According to the communication and information center in the Vice Presidency of Science, Technology and Knowledge-based Economy, in this meeting, held with the presence of the Vice President of Science, Technology and Knowledge-based Economy, the new rating system for technology research funds was described and their evaluation criteria, the interaction mechanism of the Vice Presidency of Science with these funds.

Ruhollah Dehghani, who emphasizes that "Technology Research Fund" is a more appropriate title for "Technology and Research Fund", stating that these funds are one of the most important tools of the financing system of knowledge-based companies, he clarified: Technology research funds in the system of financing technology and innovation and research which have not yet reached the commercial product, play a key role.

Referring to the position of these funds in the ecosystem of technology, innovation and knowledge-based economy, he said: One of the questions is how the mechanism of the scientific vice-chancellor as the government supports these funds. This new ranking system, while explaining and explaining the interaction mechanism with the Vice Presidency of Science, clarifies the way of supporting these funds.

Referring to the activity of nearly 73 technology research funds in the country, he said: Four months ago, the ranking and evaluation program of these funds was started in the Vice Presidency of Science based on their efficiency and performance. During numerous meetings and reviews conducted by experts, the evaluation indicators of these funds were calculated and approved in the form of an evaluation and rating system. Based on this new rating system, technology research funds are scored in various indicators and based on their performance.

The vice president of science, technology and knowledge-based economy pointed out that technological research funds are awarded points based on the points obtained in various indicators such as the amount of risky investment of the fund, the amount of issuing guarantees and their contribution to the development of technological research, and are categorized based on the points obtained in four ranks. This system of ranking and recognizing the position of the funds, while promoting the efficiency and performance of this area, helps the funds to move in the right direction and their real mission, and on the other hand, it will direct and target the support of the Vice Presidency of Science based on these indicators. In fact, good transparency is created and it is determined that each fund is supported based on what criteria and components and has provided what performance it.

He added: Funds that are placed in the last or fourth category, if they cannot get the necessary points and do not reach the quorum of indicators, their license will be revoked, so that the poor performance of these funds will damage the importance and position of research and technology funds, which play an important and effective role.
