The Africa Day commemoration ceremony was held in the diplomatic complex of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the presence of Ruhollah Dehghani, Vice President of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, and a group of African ambassadors and diplomats living in Iran.

Ruhollah Dehghani, the vice president of science, technology and knowledge-based economy, pointed out that the meeting with African friends is a reminder of the efforts and persistence of African nations to break the chains of violence, and said: Today, Africa is a symbol of progress and striving to achieve a better tomorrow. 60 years have passed since the great success of the establishment of the Organization of African Unity, and the inheritors of this valuable achievement have celebrated its commemoration.

He added: "Today, we are witnessing Africa's deliberate effort to achieve great achievements, one of which is the establishment of the African continent's free trade zone." With its population of one billion two hundred million people, this region plays a major role in Africa's global trade.

Dehghani stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran wants to promote economic, scientific and technological cooperation with this strategic region in view of the history of its relations with Africa and use the available opportunities more than before.

The vice president of science, technology and knowledge-based economy continued: In this regard, the African headquarters was formed overdue under the chairmanship of the first vice president to consolidate and deepen the relations between Iran and Africa through joint cooperation and to create a balanced relationship between the needs and possibilities of both sides.

Emphasizing that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always stood by African nations as a long-standing friend, he said: Today, when Iran has achieved all kinds of new and advanced technologies in various fields such as agriculture, medicine, medical equipment, information and communication technology, and can be a stable and capable partner for Africa.

Dehghani pointed out that we will proudly share the experiences and achievements of our knowledge-based companies with Africa; From the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to cooperate with African friends in all economic, technological and industrial fields, including "small and medium industries", "mining and infrastructure", "student-researcher exchange", "manpower training", "health tourism" ", "Medical, agricultural and industrial services", "Water", "Dam building", "Oil and gas technical and engineering services" and other similar fields.

He emphasized: As it has been with Africa in the past, the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue this partnership and considers the pride of Africa to be its pride.
