Secretary of biotechnology development headquarter expressed: production of bio-products in the country has led to saving up to $1 million currency for the country.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Mostafa Ghanei, secretary of biotechnology development headquarter, stated on the second satellite congress of pharmacy updates: to date and with regard to the activities performed in the headquarter, 1$ million currency has been saved by domestic production in this field.

Regarding the missions and goals of the headquarter, he asserted: our approach is development-centered in the headquarter, and we make our best efforts to increase the efficiency in production of biomedicine in the country and reduce the exit of currency from the country.

According to Ghanei, there are 146 biomedicines in the global market, 22 of which are present in the market of Iran, including a number of monoclonal antibody drugs and some recombinant drugs.

He also mentioned: biological drugs are drugs taken from biological sources. The vaccine, blood and its products, cells, allergens, biological tissues and recombinant proteins are the most well-known species of biocidal products.

The second satellite congress of pharmacy updates, which was held by the pharmaceutical science and research center of Shahid Beheshti University, had topics such as general and social pharmacy, traditional medicine and herbal medicine, pharmaceutical biotechnology, drug control and additives, supplements and energy drugs, economics and pharmaceutical management, chemistry and pharmaceutical chemistry, clinical pharmacy, and therapeutic foods.
