The manager of patent association announced the registration of Iranian patents in the patent registration offices of the United States and Europe.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Mahdi Zeyghami, manager of the patent association, announced improvement in registration of Iranian patents in patent registration offices of the United States and Europe, expressing: the total number of patent filed by Iranian inventors at the European and the United States patent offices during the constitution of the association (20015) was equal to 44. By activities of the association and supporting the efforts, it was tried to increase this number. In 2016, this number reached 48. A year later, we saw 94 patents registered.

Zeyghami continued: but in 2017, Iranian patents were growing well in these offices, in a way that 117 patents were registered. Then in 2018, 157 patents were registered at these offices. Of course, Iranian patents have been filed in patent offices of other countries as well, but in the ranking of countries and comparing them with each other, the scale of the American and European registry office is higher.

Manager of the patent association pointed out the share of the office in the registration of these inventions, affirming: we have approximately 50% of this share, since the patents have been registered with our 90% support.

He considered various programs of the association to be effective, asserting: more than 50 intellectual properties workshops were held in 2018. In addition, more than 10 intellectual property offices were set up. Contracts were signed between the Vice-Presidency and Islamic Azad University and ministry of science for further support of patent registration. All of these acts were carried out in support of the international patent registeration.

According to Zeyghami, opening the commercialization office in the association must be recognized as an effecitve act in patent income creation, which occurred last night and could help complete the circle of technology income generation. Moreover, the association carries out most stages of patent registration, including preparing patent packs and forms, PCT and US provisional patent registration inside the country without a need to foreign lawyers.
