According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Parviz Karami, secretary of knowledge-based economy, technology and science development headquarter, stated about holding the fifth exhibition and festival of new and advanced technologies of Rabe Rashidi, stating: given the importance of culture building in the area of knowledge-based economy, there is a low share of knowledge-based economy (8%) in the economy of resistance, compared to its 80% share in economy of advanced technologies. However, the government has attempted to improve the current condition through technological and knowledge-based businesses and increase the share of companies in domestic and international markets. In this regard, holding such technological festivals and exhibitions can play a significant role in providing the necessary infrastructures.

According to Karami, the cause of this issue is that exhibitions provide the opportunity for familiarization of knowledge-based companies with each other. In addition, companies are linked with product market and customers. Scientific assets are combined with financial assets and commercialization of projects is institutionalized.

Head of information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs regarded the difference between Rabe Rashidi festival and exhibition and similar traditional festivals to be the acquisition of a commercialization approach for technologies, expressing: similar festivals have also aimed to move toward the same path in the past few years. Nevertheless, Rabe Rashidi festival and exhibition has been initiated with this approach and by adhering to the necessary measures.

According to the advisor to the vice president for science and technology affairs, the exhibition and festival of new and advanced technologies of Rabe Rashidi will create the condition for presence of both supply and demand areas of technology.

Secretary of knowledge-based economy, technology and science development headquarter stated: this event has aimed to in addition to owners of industries and production units and executive managers of East Azarbaijan, attract investors and executive managers of other provinces and even countries as technology buyers, which will be similar to previous rounds.

Karami explained: indicators related to the commercialization of technology have been taken into consideration in evaluation of technological projects. Rabe Rashidi exhibition is categorized based on specialties, so that investors and customers could easily find their desired projects.

Advisor to the president of national science foundation regarded the modern young human resource to be alert and motivated, affirming: the youth entering the economy area of the country today will perform fundamental tasks in new projects based on knowledge. Knowledge-based growth and new businesses in the past few years have also been due to the same youth, who will be emphasized in Rabe Rashidi exhibition.

The fifth round of Rabe Rashidi festival and exhibition is held November 11^th-15^th, 2017 at the location of international exhibition center of Tabriz with the support of knowledge-based economy, technology and science development headquarter.
