Knowledge-based and technological companies based in science and technology parks and other centers are providing a new product every day to decrease the effects of COVID-19 pandemic. Iran is one of the small number of countries that has been able to meet its needs in this area with domestic production.

While, according to Financial Times Report, medical staff in Italy have received order from the authorities to prioritize patients with the “highest survival chance” due to “shortage in medical equipment”, the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs and the minister of foreign affairs of Iran talked about the ability to export products required in the battle against corona. This production and export capacity has been achieved with the support of thousands of knowledge-based and technology companies that have grown in a 6-year period from the idea stage.

SinaPS Accelerator is the first center to produce serological kits for corona. This product is the result of around the clock efforts of experts in 14 days. The SARS-CoV2 IgM and SARS-CoV2 IgG serological kits were issued for mass production by Pishtaz Teb Zaman and Ide’al Tashkhish Atieh companies in the presence of Sattari.

C1 accelerator has introduced a mobile phone app called Health Ambassadors for the corona pandemic with the support of the knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter and the ministry of health. In this app, the user has various facilities such as training, information, needs assessment, introduction and address of medical centers, introduction of startups and businesses serving the people, corona screening test, special training for students and regional warnings.

Production of Telecommunication Services

With the help of its five startups, Kara Health Accelerator has been able to provide 3,000,000,000 Rials worth of services to startup users free of charge and create jobs for more 400 people. Providing telecommunication services, providing educational content, controlling health and lifestyle during the quarantine period, etc., have been among the services provided to their users by startups that are members of the accelerator.
