Events in the field of startups play a major role in the development of the knowledge-based economy in the country. For the first time in six years, a long delay has occurred in the events due to the current pandemic. Apparently, this part of the ecosystem’s activities has been improved by increasing the number of INOTEX Pitch competitions.

Every year, 100s of startup events are held in the country to promote technology and entrepreneurship. A significant number of these events are organized by units affiliated with the Vice President for Science and Technology, Accelerators, Science and Technology Parks, Innovation Centers, and more.

After the epidemic of COVID-19 virus, these competitions were not immune to the effects of the disease and were forced to close.

By relying on the knowledge of knowledge-based companies, the Vice-Presidency was the first executive organization that transferred all of its events to the cyberspace. INOTEX Pitch competitions were among the events moved to the cyberspace to adhere to health protocols.

After primary assessment of startups requesting to participate in the online competition, the secretary selected 13 teams. The INOTEX Pitch is a great event for startups, encompassing various stages. In the first stage, startups are judged online and selected startups are invited to compete face to face with investors. At this stage of the competition, which is held in different provinces, startup teams are first trained on how to present to the investor and then introduce their idea or product in the presence of local investors.

The startups selected at this stage will be invited to attend the INOTEX exhibition as well as participate in the semifinals.
