Nine Iranian patents will be internationalized
According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the workgroup of patent registration of the national science foundation will support the international registration of nine patents of Iranian researchers. These inventions are mainly in fields of telecommunication, pharmacy, biology, medical equipment, mechanics, structural engineering, and soil engineering. Financing the process of international registration of patents, promotion and improvement of culture of registration of research achievements and studies of professors, students and researchers of Iran inside and outside the country, helping the implementation of policy of turning knowledge into wealth and commercialization of inventions, helping the improvement of position of Iran among countries that have registered patents and development of supportive activities in line with the goals and priorities of the scientific macro map of the country are among the objectives of this workgroup. A person who wants to invent a product or process for the first time can benefit from the support with some conditions, including inventing something in the world for the first time, which is innovative and has industrial applications.
International registration of patents is significantly importance. One of the most important prerequisites of entering of knowledge-based products into international markets is ensuring the protection of intellectual property rights and proof of ownership of technology and companies. Therefore, intellectual property systems, especially patent registration system, have been formed for official registration of these achievements and proving the property of individuals over their innovations in various countries. Lack of attention to the laws of intellectual property in international market can lead to serious damages, such as disclosure of technology in target market or follow up of competitors and producers of similar products. Therefore, the activities of this workgroup are in line with protection of intellectual property rights. To date, 371 patents of Iranian researchers have been supported for international registration.
