Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, expressed that Iran Khodro Co. has invested in knowledge-based companies to move from montage stage to self-efficacy stage, announcing domestication of 60% of Peugeot 301.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs quoted by the news headquarter of “Made in Iran”, this morning the production line of Peugeot 301 was opened in the presence of Sattari, Hashem Yeke Zareh, CEO of Iran Khodro Co., and Aziz Akbarian, the head of commission of parliament industries, when about 60% of productions in this field have been domesticized. In addition, inauguration of the first multipurpose line is expected to witness the production of 16 Peugeot 301 cars in one hour, and 10 thousand Peugeot 301 cars will enter the market in the first three months of the next year.

Knowledge-based Economy Will Finish the Oil-based Economy

On the ceremony for test production of Peugeot 301, Sattari marked: currently, the price of each oil barrel is 50 dollars. meanwhile, a perfume bottle might be 100 dollars, which means that perfume is more expensive than raw oil. The end of the oil-based economy will come with the reliance of knowledge-based economy on science and technology.

Sattari pointed out the growing trend of self-efficacy in automotive industry, stating: we have only established factories if we are unable to design and produce cars ourselves. Value added can bring a great profit into the country and great changes can occur in the industry if we design cars ourselves.

Flourishing of Economy with the Cooperation of Knowledge-based Companies and the Private Sector

Pointing out the uncertain future of research development with government money and lack of product production by none of the universities of the world, Sattari emphasized: commercialization occurs in the presence of private companies, and the presence of the private sector could lead to economic boosting of the country.

The vice president for science and technology affairs pointed out the design of a new car in Iran Khodro Co., asserting: this company has had an efficient performance and has been able to produce a car with 80% domestic pieces. It is aimed to enter 10 thousand Peugeot 301 cars into the market in the next year , and this path will continue until the end of the next year by producing 100 thousand Peugeot 301 cars. This presence has been formed by reliance on science and creativity of knowledge-based companies and 300 spare piece producers will accompany this production.

Knowledge Is a Good Way to Deal with Sanctions

Sattari explained the presence of knowledge-based companies in the field of domestication of import products, affirming: during the sanction, we realized that knowledge, self-belief and trust in innovative youth are a good solution to deal with sanctions. On this path, great contributions have been made by knowledge-based companies to the automotive industry.

He also mentioned: this year, we have aimed to seriously support knowledge-based companies that produce sanctioned goods.

Inauguration of a Test Production Line for Peugeot 301

The test production line for Peugeot 301 was inaugurated in the presence of the vice president for science and technology affairs and representatives of the Islamic consultative assembly by domestication of more than 60% of products.

Science and knowledge technologists have been able to produce a new product with the cooperation of capable spare piece manufacturers and using knowledge-based centers. These products are provided by using the knowledge and expertise of the Iranian youth and experts.

According to the planning and investment made in the spare piece manufacturing companies, the Peugeot 301 is being prepared for mass production and we are ready to introduce the product to the market with a domestication level above 60%. This level will increase gradually over time and a large part of production of this product will be carried out in a self-sufficient form.
