Bio-data related works are extensively growing in the world. In this area, the convergent technologies strategic center has put the development of businesses of this field on its agenda.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Ali Mohammad Soltani, head of the convergent technologies strategic center, pointed out that the new generation of sequencing is referred to a set of technologies that can sequence a large volume of “DNA” in a short time with low costs. In terms of the measures taken in the center, he expressed: adjusting the government and developing the services by new businesses are among the most important strategies considered for this area. Of course, the drafting of a government decree on business planning and development is one of the measures taken by the center in this area.

He also explained: identifying businesses around the new generation of sequencing, reviewing the biodata business support conditions, studying the market in the field worldwide, studying the feasibility of producing kits and consumables in the country are some of the other activities. All these measures have been taken to expand the activities in the country.

Soltani pointed out that activities in this area are carried out in three major sections of NGS value (i.e., data production), database and data analysis, affirming: activities have been followed in these three sections in the current year. In addition, cooperation is made to establish national bio-data headquarters. However, development of businesses in this field is followed up quickly, and production of kits and consumables is another goal in this regard.
