Technologies in the Field of Ports and Sailing Will Be Developed
The technologies in the field of ports and sailing will be developed with signing a memorandum of understanding between Iran national space and advanced transportation administration and ports and maritime organization.
This memorandum of understanding was signed in line with overall policies of the country to promote production, develop knowledge-based economy and create an entrepreneurial ecosystem in the field of ports and sailing. According to this agreement, the formation and promotion of areas of scientific, research, technical, service, education and applied production cooperation will be developed in the field of maritime.
One of the goals of this agreement is supporting the development of businesses and activating the supply chain for marine equipment parts and new materials used in marine structures by knowledge-based companies and the private sector.
In addition, increase of cooperation in obtaining licenses and standards related to maritime industry for domestically produced technological products and support of establishment of maritime knowledge-based companies to eliminate the technological needs of the ports and maritime organization are other parts of the memorandum.
In the agreement, it is decided that joint technological and needed projects of the Maritime Organization be defined and implemented with the cooperation of active maritime universities and maritime knowledge-based companies on issues such as port and maritime intelligence and maritime traffic control using new technologies.
Joint holding of entrepreneurial events in the field of maritime transportation and ports, such as technology challenge and idea market, cooperation and support of the formation of strategic research on ports and maritime transportation, such as technology roadmap and marine statistics of Iran, and cooperation and support of the development of coastal management and engineering software (such as modeling and marine surveying equipment, integrated coastal zone engineering and management software) for the development of seafront are other parts of the memorandum.
The agreement was signed on the national transportation day between Mohammad Rastad, the CEO of ports and maritime organization, and Manouchehr Manteghi, chairman of Iran national space and advanced transportation administration, in the presence of the minister of road and urbanization and a number of shipping and port managers and sailors and active participants of the private sector.
