Iran is among the top nanotechnology producers
Before the discovery of oil, Iran had a long and brilliant history in the field of knowledge. However, this discovery was the beginning of a bitter show. The show with the final scene of oil war. A war we did not conquer and opened the Iranian market to foreign goods and imports.
However, what is the solution and strategy for this fight? The solution was seen in the development of science and technology activities relying on young and creative forces. Young people striving for ecosystem innovation and technology in the past few years with their technological and scientific efforts. Relying on this ecosystem brings a bright future to the country.
Nevertheless, nanotechnology activists have shone brightly in recent years. The publication of scientific articles and the production of science in this field has been well done over the years. However, Iran published about 10 articles in this field in 2001. With this number of articles, we were ranked 57th in the world. However, the efforts of nanotech activists and technologists yielded positive results. The ecosystem of this area grew rapidly. Only in a short time did we gain the fourth place in the world.
According to the Statnano Report, of the 178,000 nano articles indexed in Journal Citation Reports in 2019, about 10,000 belong to Iranian researchers. China, the US and India rank first to third, with Iran fourth. The report identifies the top 20 countries in nanoscience production in 2019. In addition to the number of nano articles, the share of nano articles from all of the country"s articles is cited as a measure of the degree of attention and priority given to the publication of nanosciences in the table, with Iran, Saudi Arabia and India having the highest value, respectively. Of course, nanotechnology activities in the country are not limited to the production of science. Currently, 220 knowledge-based companies are active in the field and 610 nanotechnology-based products are produced in the country.
