Parviz Karami, secretary of knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter, expressed that the capabilities and capacities of science, technology, and innovation system of Iran have constantly been improved in Iran in the past 40 years, affirming: This scientific development is the result of years of efforts of experts and thinkers of the country, that must be presented to the public. With regard to this issue, we have published the book of “40 years of science, technology, and innovation” in three chapters.

Karami continued: The most important achievements of Iran in each science and technology field in the past four decades are presented in the chapters of the book. However, the science, technology and innovation policies have focused on various circles of the chain of “idea to market” in the past four decades depending on the priorities of each time, which has led to the gradual enhancement of science and technology system in the country.  Today, a foundation is laid for knowledge-based economy and economy of resistance owing to the mentioned efforts.

Secretary of the knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter explained various chapters of the book, stating: In the first chapter, the process of development of infrastructures and sources of technology and innovation in the years after the victory of the Islamic Revolution is evaluated. The second chapter depicts the achievements of the science and technology system and accomplishments of Iran regarding scientific publications, development of technology, and knowledge-based economy. Finally, the path toward science and technology is viewed in the third chapter, which is an inspirational image that can be anticipated considering the latest advancements.

The book of “40 Years of Science, Technology, and Innovation” was unveiled by Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, along with the 40th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic revolution.

The book has been compiled by the efforts of the knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter and has a special view toward four decades of science, technology, and innovation in Iran. In addition, the book is published by the Knowledge-based journal.
