Closing the Way of Repeating the Mistake

Closing the Way of Repeating the Mistake

It is said that the Believer doesn’t get hurt from a same source twice. It means that he leans from his mistakes and errors and don’t repeat them. Actually, the human civilization is based on historical lessons. It means that the human being makes a bridge of his mistakes with the power of logic and aids and guidance’s of divine guiders to pass the mistakes and reach higher ranks.

If mistakes are repeated, they will cause regress but if they become lessons, they will guide us to righteousness and prudence. Trial and error is one of the human’s knowledge sources. It means that if medical sciences and engineering have made progress today, the scientists owe this progress to the errors committed by previous scientists. Many therapy methods were failed in the history; even they had reverse effect and sent many wretch sick people to death until physicians managed to find how to cure many illnesses. Right now, a part of researchers’ and scientists’ task is to study about errors and mistakes and prevent them from happening again. In one term , all the universe –even the stone and the wood and the solids and the animals and the plants- learn from their mistakes and don’t repeat them. Is it not exaggeration if we say “evolution” of the world is equal to “lesson”. Meanwhile, Adam’s children are in fund of credit or the evolution specially.

So those who insist on their mistakes and don’t want to compensate them are in fact withstanding the evolution and kick their heels. The human’s knowledge is actually nothing but to distinguish right from the wrong ones and turn our trial and errors to progress tools.

These words are sound basic and the common logic accepts them but it is easier said than done and there are thousand obstacles in the way. The fact is that there is a formidable magnet against action that makes people repeat their mistakes and get hurt from the source that they had got hurt from it before.

One thing that makes the human consistent on his mistakes is a deadly illness named “selfishness”. Hafez said that selfishness is the most important reason of ignorance: “The selfishness of my life was the reason of ignorance.” The human nature is like that everyone in every rate and rank considers themselves to have the perfect mind and thinks that anything that he does is the righteousness itself and if his work fails, it is because other reasons. Majority of people don’t accept their mistakes and don’t learn lessons from them. Instead, they put the blame on fortune or their companions’ unfriendship or partners’ treason. It is easy. Even some managers disperse and put the blame on others instead of examining their mistakes by studying their performance. In Sa’di’s term : “If logic get destroyed from the earth/ No one would think that he is ignorant”. Actually, ignorance is not a flaw but considering one to be the master mind is.

Sometimes it is within the family and individual behavior that the human considers himself as the master mind and repeat his frequent mistakes. This is repulsive but limited and it just hurt one or a limited group. The disaster is when one person insists on his mistakes in scientific, directorial, economic, cultural, political and collective behaviors and never becomes doubtful in his wrong work. In this situation many people have to forfeiting for him and get troubled. If the Great Prophet of Islam (PBUH) with that amount of unique logic and counsel and connection to the God always consulted with his companions and priorized others opinion to his, it is a justified reason that “Everyone knows everything” and every contriver manager needs to hear other’s words and consult with wise people in theoretical and practical logic. A manager who has committed a mistake shouldn’t be blamed. It is said in the field of Ijtihad and judgment that if the judge, judges correctly, he will awarded twice and if he judges wrongly, he will awarded once. It means that the human may commit mistakes and he shouldn’t – actually must not- get blamed. But when someone considers himself as the master mind and thinks that he would never commit mistakes, he has to be blamed and get stopped by logical tools so that he doesn’t repeat his mistakes. It means that others have social responsibility to stop directorial mistakes. In fact, the country won’t make progress and develop unless the collective wisdom resists individual mistakes and ends it.

What tools keep us away from mistake and what equipments stop selfishness? Let me talk about this a bit to see how we can utilize the human’s experience.

Adherence to law and religion is the most important obstacle in the path of individual mistakes. We should use scientists’ independent reasoning and take rules from them to determine the status of laws here. When our mistakes spoil others’ rights, there must be a law to make us compensate it. Science is the next note. If works be based on expertise and knowledge, the amount of mistakes will get reduced spontaneously. Science stops inexperienced people from entering professional fields. Experience has taught us that the entrance of inexperienced people to professional fields can sometimes be catastrophic and forces a lot of expenses to people. If affairs get done by knowledge, country’s work will obtain the growth reaches and development with less expenditure.

The next issue that can prevent mistake repetition is making consultation official- actually compulsively. Parliament and council have very high ranks in our political system. If we find a mechanism that consultation reaches the management method, the amount of mistakes will definitely get reduced a lot.

And finally the last note is sincerity in practice and intention. If we manage to clear our intention from mistake. “And whoever fears God, God will save him”. And it is written somewhere else: “If you fear God he will give you a light”. If we fear God, he will show us how to distinguish right from wrong and won’t let us to go to the wrong side. What that is very very important here is that this topic’s relation to the knowledge-based economy refers to the same meaning that we shouldn’t repeat the mistakes in economy as we have committed before and paid the price. People pay the price of economic and political mistakes and they should be careful that they shouldn’t let that the previous prices are repaid more expensively over and over and over again. /The End
