The vice president for science and technology affairs stated: in the near future, six-seven Asian countries will become some of the economic powers in the world. These countries will reach this position by relying on talented and creative human resources and investing in this field.

Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, was present in the University of Tehran to open the “fourth round of Shahid Ahmadi Roshan Project” in the presence of Mahmoud Nili, head of University of Tehran, Mahmoud Saadat Foumani, the vice president of the national elites foundation, and some of the top talents and elites.

During the ceremony, Sattari talked about oil economy and how to get rid of it, expressing: we are all in the fight against oil economy. With a history of six thousand years of civilization, business and science, we have now reached a point where we are threatened by other countries that no one would buy our oil. This is mainly due to the dependence of our economy on oil resources.

Sattari continued: emergence of oil polluted the thinking structures of all people. Oil money became more valuable than creative and innovative thinking, which has reached universities as well.

 

 

The president of the national elites foundation considered these days as the time to improve the ecosystem of technology and entrepreneurship in the country, asserting: in the past, establishing a knowledge-based company by university professors would not be a wise act. Today, we consider it a significant phenomenon since it follows up entrepreneurship and can lead to the improvement of relationship with industries.

The vice president for science and technology affairs also marked: today, this type of thinking and valuating ideas has reached academic centers. Academic education is bridge to achieve dreams for students in order to turn their ideas and innovation into wealth. Students must replace receiving a degree by these issues. Therefore, the difference of innovative and degree-centered students must be determined in universities.

 

Pointing out the lack of financial problem in Shahid Ahmadi Roshan Project, Sattari affirmed: in oil economy, money is the basis of all works. On the other hand, access to financial resources is the fifth priority in knowledge-based economy.

Mentioning that innovation and technology creation are valuable today, the vice president for science and technology affairs continued: they expected us to become a resource-based country with the emergence of oil and they wanted us to be importers. Today, the ecosystem of innovation and technology has been formed in several areas. Companies are also active in the biotechnology of this ecosystem and have spent thousands of billions every year. They seek to find creativity and innovation that changes the society.

A Creative and Young Ecosystem Has Been Created in the Country’s Economy

The president of the knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter stated: a transformation has been made in the world, in a way that Asia will become powerful in the future economy of the world, and six-seven Asian countries will become the future economies of the world. These countries valuate their human resources. Therefore, we must change attitudes and educations and consider creative human resources as the basis of economy and its transportation. However, a transformation has been made and the ecosystem is rapidly making changes in our economy.

 

Sattari affirmed: Shahid Ahmadi Roshan Project has made serious changes to solve the country’s problems and universities are the center of these transformations to change the traditional culture in the form of knowledge-based companies.

 

 

The Foundation Is Laid for Development of Education and Research in Universities

During the ceremony, Mahmoud Nili Ahmadabadi, the president of University of Tehran, expressed: today, Iran is full of creative and innovative youth who are eager to learn knowledge. Fortunately, universities have carried out the necessary acts in the field of education and research.

He added: the contemplating issue is turning science and knowledge into wealth, where we have problems. Therefore, measures have been taken such as establishing growth centers, science and technology parks, knowledge-based companies and Shahid Ahmadi Roshan Project to deal with this issue.

 

 

The president of University of Tehran also marked: all of the components of the technology ecosystem use the country’s infrastructures and talents to find specific solutions.

According to this figure, education is the most important part used to establish the infrastructures, and bachelor’s degree is the best time to invest on human resources.

Nili Ahmadabadi pointed out that the education of soft skills must be the focus of universities, continuing: the issue is centralizing student activities in Shahid Ahmadi Roshan and establishing unity and homogeneity in all sectors.

Shahid Ahmadi Roshan Project has academic professors and top industrial experts recognize the main issues of the country, establish problem-centered elite cores with the cooperation of top students and scientifically produce a project in a specific time.

Guiding talented students to recognize strategic issues of the country, creating a network of top talents and academic and industrial elites and increasing social skills and spirit of self-belief in students are some of the goals of the project.
