Visiting Innovation Centers of Tehran; Sattari: Municipalities Will Become Accelerators of Startup Ideas

A one-day visit of innovation and technological circles of Tehran was made by the vice president for science and technology affairs and Mohsen Hashemi, chairman of City Council of Tehran.

Today, the innovation and technology ecosystem of Tehran hosted Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, Mohsen Hashemi, chairman of City Council of Tehran, Shahrbanoo Amani, a council member, and a number of managers and deputies of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs.

During this technological tour, Sattari stated: the municipality will become a shareholder in small businesses as an accelerator to help them reach the market.

According to Sattari, if the municipality acts in this way, it will both create a good source of income for itself and play a role in developing employment for the youth.

Sattari also mentioned: the municipality's support for innovation centers is good, but we expect the municipality itself to enter this area as an accelerator.

Innovation Centers Generate Occupations

Mohsen Hashemi, chairman of City Council of Tehran, expressed: innovation centers have boosted employment in the country during sanctions and economic hardship.

He continued: we do not yet have a plan to support the implementation of startup ideas in the field of urban management in the true sense, but this concept has automatically found its place in urban plans.

He also mentioned: some mayors are well aware of the importance of this issue. We hope that other municipalities will enter this area as well.

Visiting the Innovation Centers of Tehran

Visiting the technological achievements of Azadi Innovation Factory as the most prominent house of Iranian startups and one of the most well-known technology hubs in Iran and the Middle East with an area of more than 18,000 square meters was one of the programs of this technological tour.

Some of the visited centers were Hamava Accelerator, Zavie Coworking Space, iSink, and Haftohasht Studio.

Bontech technology tower is a private sector technology tower based in Sharif Innovation Zone was the next destination.

They also visited the technological achievements of Sharif Innovation Station.

Other places visited were Persisgen, a vaccination accelerator, Oxin, an accelerator active in the field of content production, Studio Startup, active in Fintech field, Pinket Startup, active in the field of fruits, and Darouei accelerator based in Sharif Innovation Station.
