The secretary of biotechnology development headquarter emphasized that Iranian bio drugs have reached the global gates, stating: treating patients in other countries with Iranian bio drugs is accelerated.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Mostafa Ghanei, the secretary of biotechnology development headquarter, expressed gaining the first rank of bio knowledge-based companies in the meeting of the secretariat of the cultural revolution council, expressing: 50% of knowledge-based companies’ revenues and 60% of knowledge-based export of the country are related to the field of biotechnology, which shows the significant growth of Iran in this area.

He added: Iran has had considerable growth in the biotechnology field, especially the area of medicine. We have reached a level that in addition to meeting domestic needs, we can export bio drugs to other countries.

The secretary of biotechnology development headquarter introduced Russia, Iraq, Syria, Pakistan, Malaysia, and Turkey as the most important customers of Iranian bio drugs, asserting: transferring the biotechnology knowledge of these drugs to Argentina is being carried out.

Ghanei also asserted: at least one billion and 200 million dollars’ worth of biotechnology drugs are produced in the country, which is hoped to be increased by proper planning.

Ghanei continued: the biotechnology is a value-creating industry and paying attention to all of its angels paves the way for economic development. For instance, focusing on different sections such as algae, bio agriculture, and bio fuels can improve the economic status of the country.
