This year’s priority of knowledge-based companies and startups is export to target countries.

The vice president for science and technology affairs expressed: supporting the presence of knowledge-based enterprises and startups in the international field is a part of infrastructural support based on the ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship. In addition, support of the presence of knowledge-based companies and startups in the target countries is another priority of the Vice-Presidency in the current year.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, talked about the infrastructural support of knowledge-based companies aiming at placing these businesses on the circuit of production boost.

According to Sattari, the most important program employed by the Vice-Presidency to accelerate achieving this goal is implementing the support law for knowledge-based companies and providing more than 130 services to knowledge-based businesses in various fields.

Sattari also mentioned that supplying the pivotal needs with the help of knowledge-based companies and startups is one of the major missions of these businesses in the current year.

The vice president for science and technology affairs continued: fortunately, the Iranian national science foundation and the national development fund, along with the Vice-Presidency, have financed the knowledge-based businesses of the country. A part of this support is provided in the form of low-interest loans or the required warranties. In addition, the private sector investors, especially venture capitals, have entered the field of supporting the ecosystem.

Sattari regarded academic entrepreneurship funds and innovation factories as other suitable foundations for the emergence of value-creating innovations, adding: Azadi Innovation Factory will be exploited after Ramadan as a successful model of support and guidance of innovative ideas. We will continue expanding the ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship by supporting these infrastructural in other regions of the country.

Communication with Technology and Knowledge-based Activists

Visiting Abu-ali Industrial Town, Sattari talked with the employees of three knowledge-based companies of Sydone Sanat Aria Co., Paya Baspar Arya, and Sahar Food Industries.

These units have relied on domestic technical knowledge and expert human resources to produce automobile spare parts, watering equipment (drip irrigation), watering cans, irrigation equipment for agriculture and food products.

In addition, the activists based in the science and technology park of Hamedan introduced their Iranian products to the vice president for science and technology affairs.

In total, 162 technology units and 23 knowledge-based companies are based in the park. The knowledge-based companies have yielded more than 480 billion rials, whereas technological units have provided more than 350 billion rials for the economy of the country.

In addition, the knowledge-based companies based in Hamedan province have produced more than 1100 occupations.
