The second phase of scientific, research, and technology collaborations with the Netherlands in the field of food health is being progressed

Deputy for international affairs and technological exchange, Ali Morteza Birang, announced the implementation of the second phase of “the comprehensive program for development of food health in the country”.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, a delegation headed by Robert Gorkom, the president of the Richelieu Institute of university of Wageningen, met with the deputy for international affairs and technological exchange.

Birang pointed out the “comprehensive program of development of food health in the country”, which is being implemented since 2014 with the cooperation and support of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, ministry of food and drugs, and the food health research center of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. In this regard, he added” the first phase of this project was carried out to transfer new technologies for measuring pollutants in foods from the food health institute of Wageningen University and Research of the Netherlands, agency of food health of Austria, and national office of food health chain and laboratory of food control reference of Hungary to inside the country. He continued: currently, the second phase of the program is being carried out, and it is hoped that in addition to creating a proper foundation for participation in research projects of the European Nation, we could be able to work on training an expert human resource in the areas required in the field of food health.
