Chairman of Iran national space administration stated: spatial technologies play a considerable role in the development of national economy. This issue must be considered by the authorities.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Manouchehr Manteghi, chairman of Iran national space administration, expressed about the role of spatial technologies in economy: lack of sufficient attention to the programs for development of use of spatial technologies in the national economy is one of the defects that needs correction.

He continued: other defects in this area include the insignificant role of the private sector in spatial technologies. In the national space administration, we have aimed to design and follow up programs with knowledge-based companies.

According to Manteghi, we need to emphasize on production and localization of research satellites in the spatial technologies field.

He also asserted: there is a need for integrated cooperation between active centers and government units and other beneficiaries of the spatial region in the area of national coordination.
