The path of entrance of knowledge-based business into the field of energy and environment will be paved

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, in the beginning of the co-operation between the German Science Protection Ministry and the Vice-Presidency with the aim of developing low-carbon economy, which was held with the presence of the German ambassador to Iran, regarded rich underground resources and creative and capable human resources as two Iran"s regional advantage for sustainable development of energy and environmental technologies, expressing: the territorial and structural advantages of our country in the field of energy are two important characteristics of Iran. As the world"s first holder of hydrocarbon reserves and the third largest producer of gas in the world, we have received a significant share of global energy and environment capacity.

Pointing the considerable human resource capacity of Iran, Sattari continued: with over 33 million and more than four million graduated students, Iran has trained engineering graduates along with the most advanced countries in the world. This capacity from universities, which includes the community and the labor market, offers Iran a significant potential for knowledge-based and creative energy businesses.

Improvement of Environment and Energy Market by Entrance of knowledge-based Products

The president of the national elites foundation emphasized the necessity of knowledge-based businesses for flourishing of huge capacities of Iran in fields of energy, environment and market improvement, asserting: energy has several problems that the government paid a lot of government subsidies to reduce energy prices and provide a potential for abuse and trafficking. We are not unaware of these issues, and new mechanisms must be formed to increase the presence of knowledge-based companies in energy field. He reminded the progress of Iran in flourishing of startups and knowledge-based businesses, adding: Iran has taken huge steps in the area of startups and the largest IT companies in the field of information and communication technology and knowledge-based technology companies belong to Iran with the ability of creating value-added products and occupations by developing knowledge-based businesses.

The vice president for science and technology expressed his hope about the development of joint cooperation between Iran and Germany and flourishing of knowledge-based businesses in the field of energy and environment, affirming: the Vice-Presidency has serious determination to support this trend of mutual cooperation, and we hope that with the cooperation of the German side, we will make significant progress in this area.

Development of Technological Cooperation of Iran and Germany in Energy Field

Michael Klor-Berchtold, the ambassador of Germany in Iran, pointed out the development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy and environment optimization technologies, expressing: after employing of sanctions against Iran, the environment ministry of Germany became active in Iran, and several travels occurred between the two countries. This project is one of the relevant programs.

The ambassador of Germany in Iran pointed out the environmental authorities of Germany in Iran, expressing: this program has been formed in cooperation with the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs and the German ministry of environmental protection.

He continued: a budget of 3.5 million euros is foreseen for this project until 2021.

Berchtold mentioned the serious steps taken by Germany in development of energy optimizing technologies, claiming: the issue of energy optimization is significantly important. Germany has spent many years trying to optimize energy consumption, and the cleanest kind of energy is that we do not consume energy. The surplus of energy consumed in Iran is able to be reused and exported, and energy recovery in Germany will slow down energy consumption and create the new trend in energy consumption.

Pointing out the 20% reduction in energy use in 2050, he explained: Germany has supported energy optimization in Iran by designing a sustainable development program by the United Nations until 2020. From the next January, Germany will be a non-fixed member of the council of the United Nations since maintaining the environment is our major goal in the United Nations.

The ambassador of Germany in Iran reminded the strong relations between the two countries, expressing: Germany was mainly involved in signing the sanctions against Iran. I assure you that we believe in the high value of this agreement and will do our best to continue this international and significant contract.

He expressed his dissatisfaction with the exit of the US president from BARJAM and re-assigning sanctions, asserting: we believe that the secondary sanctions by the United States are against the international law. Iran has performed its duties and the international nuclear energy agency has approved this issue 12 times. Therefore, the United States should have remained in the agreement.

Berchtold mentioned the adherence to BARJAM by other European countries, adding: last week, we had positive results and this week and after the employing of US sanctions, a moderate delegation traveled to Iran managed by a political figure. In addition, the European Union showed that it will adhere to BARJAM and is united with 28 European countries in this regard.

He added: our message is that we will adhere to this contract and we will establish organizations in Europe to create financial security.

Public Tendency Will Increase for Improving Energy

Zeynab Hamidzadeh, the national presenter of the project between the Vice-Presidency and environment ministry of Germany, which is held with the goal of developing low-carbon economy, expressed in the meeting: : implementing the energy and energy market optimization plan, implementing appropriate and efficient mechanisms to attract the maximum participation of people, young and educated people, and the private sector, energy service companies and knowledge base to address key societal challenges and related issues, energy, water and the environment are on the agenda of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, and the organization and management of national efforts to solve macroeconomic problems and cloud challenges has been followed up by the work of the eleventh government.

She pointed out the establishment of a regulation for energy and environment optimization market in the Vice-Presidency and the suggestion by high energy council, affirming: according to these regulations announced in February 2018, energy saved can be sold to sectors and consumers with high tariffs depending on the measures taken by the consumers and the private sector.

Hamidzadeh continued: implementation of this project will economically justify saving projects and energy optimization plans and will lead to increased motivation of the public and the private sector to save energy. In addition, it will be based on the market mechanism and framework of energy stock exchange in a transparent and competitive environment.
