The healthy product network (SHAMS Project) is unveiled by the biotechnology development headquarter and with the goal of empowering, supporting, promoting and classifying healthy agricultural products.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the healthy product network (SHAMS Project) is unveiled by the biotechnology development headquarter with the goal of empowering, supporting, promoting and classifying healthy agricultural products, as well as marketing and selling of the products to improve health and maintain food safety.

He added: the document of this project was approved by the cultural revolution higher council, and the other strategic document of the headquarter in the macro scientific map of the country is passing its revision stages.

According to Ghanei, development of relevant technologies is followed up in the headquarter, which will eventually lead to earning three percent of the global biotechnology market. However, only 0.5% of the mentioned market has been acquired to this day, which shows that more efforts must be dedicated to this field.

He introduced the use of integrated nutrition in farms and use of biosensors instead of chemical toxics as solutions to produce healthy food.

According to Ghanei, 15 thousand graduates in the field of biotechnology currently exist in Iran, who need job opportunities. Therefore, this project can significantly help forming jobs for these individuals.

Healthy Product Network Improves the Public Health

Mohammad Ali Malboobi, secretary of the agriculture workgroup of the biotechnology development headquarter introduced the flourishing of knowledge-based businesses as the responsibilities of the Vice-Presidency.

The healthy product network (SHAMS Project) has been developed with the goal of empowering, supporting, promoting and classifying healthy agricultural products, as well as creating the market, marketing and selling these products to improve health and maintain food safety. All of these will contribute to increased confidence of people in health of products and increased healthy lifestyle. The healthy product network has been established with the voluntary cooperation of effective companies and groups, each playing a specific role in achieving the goals and missions of the network.

Some of the goals of this network include “determining health indicators, categorizing, issuing licenses and following up agricultural and food products in the chain of supplying healthy products by members, creating a trustful network for cooperation between units, private companies and government and non-government institutions to improve the health of the country, increasing the capacity and productivity of production and distribution of healthy products by developing innovative and collective activities and using relevant technologies and effective private companies in the supply chain of agricultural products.

In addition, earning the trust of users as the main pillar of the network, joint and cohesive activities for research on market, marketing and selling agricultural products and healthy food, creating links between banks and financial and insurance organizations of the country and international financial and monetary organizations within the law framework of the country and with the goal of facilitation and development of financial services to members, creating databanks in areas related to goals and duties of information network through creating an information network and publishing books, journals, specialized brochures and exchange of data and presenting technical services to the network, efforts to organize, encourage and support joint investment in production and export, and informing and legal follow up for preventing the production of non-standard products and smuggling of products with the cooperation of responsible organizations and units to protect healthy product brands are among the other objectives of this project.
