According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the first innovation growth center on marine field is established in Amir Kabir University, Bandar Abbas Campus, by the efforts of the marine technologies development working group of national space and advanced transportation administration.

The main goals of the center include promoting the scientific and industrial level of students and alumni of the region, creating and developing marine knowledge companies, commercializing marine science products, generating entrepreneurship and employment through the provision of various services and services, and attracting financial support to the maritime industry to build or selling knowledge-based products.

As one of the developing and emerging countries in the region, Iran has certain technological priorities such as the oil and gas industries, nanotechnology, military industries, and maritime industries. Meanwhile and despite the marvelous benefits of the sea in Iran, such as the existence of several thousand kilometers of seashores, the existence of various shipyards, the existence of first-class universities, being adjacent to the countries of the region, and the placement of maritime transit, the maritime industry has not been able to mainstream itself in the field of technology to convert knowledge into wealth.

Establishing the first innovation growth center on marine field is a solution to reach growth and development and create wealth by the large resources of Iran.
