The ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation of Iran is an opportunity for technological interactions with other countries

The vice president for science and technology affairs stated: the ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship is an opportunity for technological interaction with other countries.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, met with Costa Champo Raous, the minister of education of Cyprus, on February 24th 2019.

In this meeting, Sattari regarded the ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation of Iran as a new opportunity for interaction of Iran with countries of the world, stating: while Iran is traditionally known as a country with rich sources of oil and gas, evolutions have been made in the business of this country today, which has led to the introducing of Iran as a rich source of innovation and knowledge-based businesses.

Sattari talked about the newly paved way of economy in the country that moves based on the innovation and creativity of the young and educated human resources, continuing: a new generation of innovative businesses has been formed in the country, which is able to transform all previous traditional structures. In addition, companies move based on the circuit of new technologies and knowledge, such as nanotechnology, fundamental and cognitive cells and biotechnology.

Sattari mentioned the successful experience of startup businesses formed based on information and communication technology of Iran, expressing: we have a good experience in the field of businesses. This valuable experience can be the basis for cooperation between the countries.

The president of the knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter announced the emergence of new innovative centers as a novel generation of centers for training creativity and innovation in Iran, adding: the contaminated, insecure and imported factories that are not in the new type of Iranian economy are now turned into factories for the production of innovation. In Pardis Technology Park, knowledge-based companies are located, sales rate of which has passed a million dollars and are recognized as strong pillars of the economy of Iran.

According to the vice president for science and technology affairs, one of the basics for this international cooperation is startup programs since many years of deprivations and limitations have empowered startups and knowledge-based companies, which are able to both, meet the domestic needs and can provide a way for export of knowledge-based products.

The minister of education and culture of Cyprus regarded the hospitality of Iran along with its scientific and technological capacities as a unique experience.

Champo Raous mentioned the scientific and educational capacities of Iran at the university and research center level to work as a basis for the cooperation between the countries, affirming: in terms of educational aspects, Iran has a wide range of programs and considerable belongings.

He continued: Cyprus also has various research and science centers in areas such as nephrology, which has enabled us to have close interactions with the universities and research centers of Iran.

The vice president for science and technology affairs considered the mission of governments to create interaction between people and various knowledge-based and university sections of the country, asserting: Iranian scientists and academics and your country must interact with each other through a mechanism provided by the government in the form of research centers, institutes and corporations. The responsibility of governments of the two countries is laying the proper foundation for interaction of communities of the two countries. Successful examples of integration between Iran and European countries in creating joint research centers by taking similar steps are proper models for bilateral cooperation in this regard.

Hamidieh, secretary of stem cells and regenerative medicine sciences and technologies development headquarter pointed out the abilities of Iran in the area of technology, adding: Iran has successful knowledge-based companies in the area of cell therapy and stem cells, importing relevant products to regional countries. We have than 47 research centers and 1000 researchers, achievements of whom at the level of international cooperation can be an area of cooperation for research and science centers of the two countries.
