The specialized panel of location-based technologies in gas station research was held by the national space and advanced transformation administration.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the first specialized panel of location-based technologies in gas station research was held by the national space and advanced transformation administration along with holding the second international exhibition of gas stations and relevant industries (February 21^st-24^th, 2019).

The most important goals of this panel included the promotion and culture building for location-based technologies, expressing the abilities of these technologies in the transportation field, especially the provision of energy agents, effective and in-person communication with activists of the field, and introduction of services that can be provided by the group of location-based technologies development.

Design and implementation of spatial data infrastructure (SDI) of gas stations, finding the location of gas stations and evaluating the location of current gas stations, evaluation of vulnerability due to gas stations, assessing the air pollution level caused by gas stations, and online management of fleet of fuel transportation on the map were among the most important topics discussed in the panel.

In addition, optimal design of fuel distribution paths, finding the nearest gas station, and management of incidents caused by carrying energy and fuel were other topics of the panel.

Location-based technologies, including empowering and knowledge-based technologies, include newly emerged technologies in the 21^st century. This technology has been defined in all developed countries and implementation of its development programs has been initiated a long time ago.
