The First Step toward the Establishment of Kermanshah Innovation Complex Is Taken; Unveiling Seven Technological Projects in the Field of Health

In line with his travel to Kermanshah Province, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, opened the first stage of innovation complex of the science and technology park of Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research to take another step toward development in the innovation and technology ecosystem of the province.

The innovation complex of the science and technology park of Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research has an area of 6000 m2, including a workshop space, which will be established with the support of the Vice-Presidency and will provide space for the technological activities of 20 knowledge-based companies in the province.

Knowledge-based companies active in the fields of biotechnology, medical plants, chemical industries, agriculture and food and information and communications technology will commercialize their achievements. The innovation complex of the science and technology park of Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research will be opened in two stages; in the first stage, 20 knowledge-based companies will be established in the center.

A Foundation for Iranian-made Greenhouse Equipment Production

In addition, the vice president for science and technology affairs opened the greenhouse equipment production unit via cyberspace and then visited the exhibition of technological products of 50 knowledge-based companies and technological units supported by the science and technology park of Kermanshah Province in fields of chemical industry, medical equipment, information and communication technology, agriculture and active in the field of corona and game and animation center and smart agricultural innovation center.

Unveiling Seven Health Technology Projects

Sattari also unveiled seven technological projects and inventions in the field of health. Currently, 25 projects and inventions have been presented by Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences, and 70 knowledge-based health companies have provided jobs for 50 experts and graduates in this area.

The project of “Portable Ultra-Low Temperature Freezer” for storage and transfer of biological solutions for use in blood banks and hospitals with the ability to adjust the temperature up to -30°C and an alarm system in case of temperature problem or power outage to the user, “Favipiravir” for corona disease treatment and other viral diseases, such as the Flu, touchless elevator button, N100 nano masks, and Afatinib intermediate for “Afatinib” drug production used for breast and lung cancer treatment are other projects unveiled by the vice president for science and technology affairs.

Boosting of Knowledge-based and Technological Businesses

The vice president for science and technology affairs pointed out the growth in the number of knowledge-based companies and active youth in the area during meeting with the representative of the Supreme Leader in the province and the Friday Imam of Kermanshah, stating: the most important requirement for the prosperity of knowledge-based and technology businesses is to create a favorable ecosystem for the activities of these businesses. This important issue must be created with the sympathy and cooperation of all parts of the province.

The president of the national elites foundation pointed out the completion of the science and technology park’s building as an important part of the ecosystem, expressing: the budget required for completing the building will be provided by the Vice-Presidency to boost knowledge-based businesses and startups with the help of creative youth.

Emphasizing the software approach of science and technology parks in support of all innovative ideas and businesses of Kermanshah, Sattari claimed: we must plan in such a way that all the cities of the province have the necessary infrastructure for the activities of knowledge-based companies.

Sattari mentioned the insurance, custom, tax and transcription support and facilities provided for innovation ecosystem activists by the Vice-Presidency, stating: the necessary facilities should be provided to knowledge-based companies. However, attention should be paid to knowledge-based economy in various parts of the community to pave the way for creative youth.

The president of the headquarters for culture knowledge-based economy emphasized the need for the support of scientists, asserting: today, the youth of the country are carrying out valuable activities in the field of knowledge-based economy, and in many sectors of technology, while meeting the needs of sanctioned technology, they have prevented imports.
