According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, along with the second scientific symposium on applications of stem cells and regenerative medicine in digestive, liver and pancreas diseases, the provincial council of stem cells and regenerative medicine was held in the presence of Amir Ali Hamidieh, secretary of stem cells and regenerative medicine in Tabriz University of Medical Sciences.

In this meeting, Hamidieh appreciated the actions performed in the area of stem cells and regenerative medicine in the university, research centers, knowledge-based companies and innovation center of the university, stating: the city of Tabriz is one of the first cities that has shown progress in the area of stem cells. We will extend all of our efforts to this field in order to remain the first in this regard.

He emphasized the commitment of governors in providing facilities and financial and spiritual support of stem cells and regenerative medicine and innovation centers.

In addition, Mohammad Hossein Soumi, head of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, announced the establishment of the comprehensive center of stem cells and regenerative medicine of Azerbaijan in Tabriz with the support of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs.

He explained: we need create synergy and cooperation between universities to produce and commercialize the products of this field. All of the current capacities of the province can be applied with the decision-making of managers to successfully implement projects to make advancement in this field of science.
