According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, inaugurated the specialized accelerator of PersisGene in Shiraz (area of 10 hectares) with the support of the private sector.

Shiraz specialized accelerator of PersisGene is a place for the growth and commercialization of innovative ideas of startups in the area of biotechnology and biotech medications.

In this center, 50 graduates in the fields of medicine and pharmacy are active in the areas of anticancer medicine, production of herbal cosmetic products, herbal supplements, and bisphosphonates using the capacity of medical plants found in Fars Province.

The vice president for science and technology affairs expressed on the opening ceremony of the accelerator: knowledge-based companies and startups rely on the creativity and innovation of creative founders and entrepreneurs, which can also transform the structures of the traditional economy. In this respects, attempts have been made to pave the way for the activity and role-playing of these businesses in the economy.

Sattari continued: the economy of the province must move toward knowledge-based area. Knowledge-based firms and startups depend on the creativity and innovation of young founders, and it is aimed to guide the economy of the country toward the creation of values and occupations from innovation.

According to the vice president for science and technology affairs, knowledge-based companies and startups are able to transform the inflexible structures involved in the resource-based economy of the country. Therefore, we must all support these businesses as a way to develop the economy.

The president of the knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter affirmed: fortunately, we have obtained acceptable results but we are still far from the desirable point. Therefore, we have serious determination in solving the problems of knowledge-based companies and startups to pave the way for knowledge-based economy.

Sattari mentioned the importance of entrepreneurial ecosystem, adding: the ecosystem must be developed to create a safe place for activities of knowledge-based companies and create innovation in startups. This place can be developed from a small space to the whole country. In order to accelerate the pace of this process, we follow up the problems and concerns of residents of this ecosystem. However, effective organization, provincial authorities, and people must help this process and welcome and support innovative businesses of creative and educated children, thereby playing a role in the development of ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship.

We hope that in the support of knowledge-based companies and startups, everyone should work in the field of effective infrastructures to pave the way for increased activities of the private sector and investment in research centers, knowledge-based companies and startups.
