Sattari: Construction of a National Observatory Is a Great Scientific Move in the Country; Exchanging Information between Scientists of the World

During visiting the final stage of establishing Iran national observatory, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs stated: constructing Iran national observatory is the largest project in the field of basic sciences, which has reached the exploitation stage. Building and equipment activities at the summit are over. Early next year, the installation and lighting will begin, and in June, this huge project will be officially inaugurated.

Pointing out the long history of Iran in the field of astronomy, Sattari added: there is historical neglect in the field of astronomy. Given the country's history in this area, however, telescopes of this size have never been built inside.

The president of the headquarters for knowledge-based economy culture-building and development of soft and creative industries also asserted: all the components, equipment and telescopes of this observatory are made in Iran, except that we have achieved this achievement with the efforts and capabilities of a team of Iranian scientists and builders. There is tremendous knowledge in the world in terms of the size of the mirror and the quality of the photos it takes.

Pointing out the selection of the location of the observatory, Sattari marked: Mount Gargash in Kashan is the best place for construction of this center. Finding a location to build the National Observatory of Iran took five years and was selected this place from 80 peaks of this point. The main telescope of this project weighs more than 100 tons and its diameter is 3 meters, and its construction is a big step.

The president of the national elites foundation continued: the construction of the observatory is a scientific process in the country. Many scientists will come to the observatory from across the world and there will be good scientific exchanges among researchers in the field. It is necessary to train good manpower inside the country to use this observatory. However, there is still a good workforce in this area.

The vice president for science and technology expressed: at the bottom of the peak, a professional set of observatories and research centers will be built. This observatory is located in the world observation network and follows the important astronomical phenomena of the world along with other observatories in the world.

According to the report, Kashan, the city of traditional culture and civilization of Iran, hosted Sorena Sattari.

First, Sattari visited Islamic Azad University, Kashan Branch and visited the carpet innovation hall, which includes a specialized machine carpet laboratory, machine carpet research center and machine carpet design laboratory. The unveiling of the telescopic crane of Sanat Andisheh Madar Company was another program at Azad University. Visiting knowledge-based companies and exhibiting their products in Ghiasuddin Jamshid Kashani Science and Technology Park was another part of this trip.
