Chairman of Iran national space and advanced transportation administration: satellite information can be used to optimize water use and, given the water crisis in Iran, the use of this information can be helpful.
According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Manouchehr Manteghi, chairman of Iran national space and advanced transportation administration, expressed about the use of satellite services and information: for many years, satellite information has been used in many other countries, such as agriculture. But in Iran, we still do not use this information well.
He added: of course, after preparing the Aerospace Strategic Plan by the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology Affairs, the actions in this field have become new, and all of these programs will be implemented in the form of a planned program.
According to Manteghi, one of the most important priorities set by the Vice-Presidency is the increase in general use of satellite information. One of these uses can be remote sensing, use of this information to monitor forests, mines, roads, the environment, agriculture, and so on.
Chairman of Iran national space and advanced transportation administration also asserted: Iran has grown rapidly in space and satellite. But, for optimal use of this sector, we need to take advantage of the potential of our youth and not just emphasize on international cooperation.
He continued: developing international cooperation and relying on the power and ideas of young people is the best way to advance the spatial area in the country.
