According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Mostafa Ghanei, secretary of biotechnology development headquarter, emphasized the high capacities of biotechnology in the global market during the collaboration meeting of managers of the biotechnology development headquarter with the head of higher education planning and budget organization, expressing: issues related to knowledge-based economy in the field of biotechnology are determined by the headquarter. First, the priorities are determined, based of which other works are followed up. It should be noted that this year’s priorities have been determined as well.

He continued: in addition, the headquarter is obligated to report the sales and export rate of products in the area of biotechnology and share of market of relevant companies every six months.

According to Ghanei, one of the goals of the headquarter is occupying three percent of the market with biotechnology products.

The secretary of biotechnology development headquarter also mentioned: the difference between the biotechnology development headquarter and ministry of science, research and technology is that the former follows up issues with the goal of realization of the knowledge-based economy.

He also asserted: therefore, issues related to basic studies have their own custodians and are not related to the biotechnology development headquarter. In general, development of issues in the field of biotechnology are supported by the headquarter. However, the industrialization of issues is the responsibility of organizations that allocate loans and facilities to industrial developments.

During the meeting, Gholamreza Geraeinejhad, the head of higher education planning and budget organization, expressed: conducting and monitoring the development of the country; conducting economic, social and cultural studies in the country; conducting scientific studies and studies to improve planning and budgeting systems; preparing and organizing development strategies and short-term, medium and long-term plans, are among the tasks of the planning and budget organization.
