Provision of research grants to active university professors in the marine field

 

The marine knowledge-based industries and technologies development headquarter will provide grants to university professors to assist them in designing the marine technology roadmap.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, one of the programs of the marine headquarter has been the support of scientific and technological activities of professors in the marine field. In addition, extensive efforts have been dedicated to improve university-professor association and provide the necessary supports as one of the main technology development levers. In this regard, marine knowledge-based industries and technologies development headquarter will provide grants to university professors to assist them in designing the marine technology roadmap.

Among these supports include support of publication of ISI articles in top marine engineering journals, support of short-term sabbaticals (especial for professors of universities and higher education institutes), postdoctoral and research projects and doctoral dissertations, and publication of specialized books in this field.

According to this report, the first meeting on the evaluation of research grants was held in 2018 in the presence of members of the judging panel at the location of the headquarter. In this meeting, one research project, one doctoral dissertation, one short-term sabbatical, seven articles and one book were approved to receive grants.
