Presence of Ghanei in the Meeting of Exchange of Scientific and Technological Experiences of Scientists of the Islamic World

 

The fourth meeting of exchange of scientific and technological experiences of scientists of the Islamic world was held with the goal of designing a foundation for realization of the goals of the Mustafa Prize and cooperation and interaction between scientists and experts of Islamic countries.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the fourth meeting of exchange of scientific and technological experiences of scientists of the Islamic world was held in the presence of scientific and managerial authorities of Oman, including Ali al-Bimani, head of Sultan Qaboos University, and Abdollah bin Mohammad al-Saremi, the minister of science of Oman, Mostafa Ghanei, secretary of biotechnology development headquarter, Rasoul Dinarvand, the administrative secretary of the fourth meeting of exchange of scientific and technological experiences of scientists of the Islamic world, Saeed Sarkar, secretary of nanotechnology development headquarter, and Kamran Bagheri Lankarani, member of the cultural center of medical sciences.

In order to create a space for interaction between scientists and experts of Islamic countries, a project called Science and Technology Exchange Program (STEP) in Islamic Countries has been put on the agenda. In this project, scientific discourse is made and the network of associations between scientists of the Islamic world is made in order to help increasing synergy between these individuals and providing the opportunity for developing scientific and technological activities in member countries of the Islamic cooperation organization.

On the forth STEP meeting, 60 top scientists attended from 16 countries and exchanged opinion on three topics of water, energy and health, challenges and proper solutions and cooperation between Islamic countries over four days.

The main lecturers of the event were Jackie Ying and Mohammad Amin Shokrollahi, winners of the Mustafa Prize in 2015 and 2016, and prominent science and technology professors of the world, discussing relevant issues in various panels over four days.

One of the goals of this meeting is designing a foundation for realizing the goals of the Mustafa Prize, cooperation and interaction between scientists and experts of the Islamic countries and developing scientific activities in member countries of the Islamic cooperation organization.

During the event, various panels and meetings will be held on energy, water, health, latest achievements in these areas, and success stories of the winners of the two rounds of the Mustafa prize, showcasing the achievements of young Omani scientists and scientists from other countries. In addition, meetings will be held on barriers to the development of science and technology in Islamic countries and an ISA meeting.
