According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Ehsan Sharif, scientific secretary of the first symposium on imaging in pre-clinical research, stated about the holding of the event: with regard to the importance of pre-clinical studies and lack of presence of necessary facilities to perform these studies, the pre-clinical laboratory was established last year with the support of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs so that services could be provided for researchers of the country by having the most equipped equipment.

Sharif continued: currently, many researchers have no knowledge about the facilities provided in laboratory and its devices. Therefore, holding this symposium is a proper method to introduce the imaging equipment and some studies performed in the laboratory.

He regarded the holding of this event as a step toward promotion of this field, expressing: in this symposium, family of researchers and experts, who are active in the field of imaging, will gather to expand activities in this field. However, the laboratory will be visited at the end to be familiarized with its facilities.

According to Sharif, some of the goals of this symposium are promoting research on pre-clinical field, introducing the services and facilities of the pre-clinical laboratory, introducing the applications of imaging in various fields of medicine and engineering, and presenting research results in areas of pre-clinical imaging in basic sciences of medicine. The symposium will be held in Ibn Sina hall of Tehran University of Medical Sciences on May 14^th 2018.

President of the pre-clinical laboratory also affirmed: in addition, diversity of facilities provided in the laboratory has led to its proper ranking in the world (9^th). Moreover, it is the only laboratory that contains domestically produced products, manufactured based on international standards. Therefore, we can anticipate the significant growth of pre-clinical field in the near future. Currently, results of the studies in the knowledge border of researchers of the country have led to the realization that one of these studies seriously focuses on cancer treatment.
