According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Alireza Daliri, deputy for management and resources development headquarter, announced the growth and development of financial-resource supply for knowledge-based companies during the past 10 months in a meeting on credit lines and investment attraction for these companies, stating: over the past 10 months, one thousand and 258 knowledge-based companies have received two thousand and eight hundred billion IRR facilities.
He pointed out the singing of agreements with 12 banks in order to supply financial resources for knowledge-based companies, asserting: the Melat and Saderat banks provided the most support, followed by the banks of Pasargad, Melli, Sepah, and Shahr.
In terms of facilities provided by the Iranian national science foundation and the Vice-Presidency, Daliri expressed: about 12 thousand billion IRR has been provided for knowledge-based companies by the Iranian national science foundation, four hundred billion IRR of which has been provided by the Vice-Presidency and the rest has been supplied by the national science foundation.
83% Share of Private Banks and 17% Share of Government Banks in Support of Knowledge-based Companies During the Last 10 Months
He continued: 83% of the resources have been supplied by the private banks, whereas 17% has been provided by the government banks. In addition, 71% of the number of supported projects have been carried out by private banks, which is indicative of the fact that private banks have participated in large projects.
Remuneration of 90% of Facilities Provided for Knowledge-based Companies by Banks in the Past 10 Months
He pointed out: over the past 10 months, 90% of facilities for knowledge-based projects have been provided by banks and 10% of them have been supplied by the national science foundation.
Allocation of An Improved File for Knowledge-based Companies by the National Development Foundation in 2018
Daliri mentioned the agreements made with the national development foundation, expressing: according to negotiations, it is aimed to introduce the share of knowledge-based companies by the Vice-Presidency, which leads to creation of an improved file in the resources of the national development foundation.
He explained about the measures taken in order to attract investments for knowledge-based ideas and projects, marking: according to agreements signed with the Fara Bourse and stock exchange organizations, we have been able to provide a foundation to present approved and knowledge-based ideas and projects to Fara Bourse, which led to their selling and commercialization.
Issuance of Credit Insurance and Knowledge-based Production
Regarding the issuance of credit insurance for knowledge-based productions, Daliri stated: with regard to lack of defining a particular structure for issuance of licenses for knowledge-based products, we have been able to conduct many negotiations, which will be soon result in positive consequences.
Allocation of 20% of Resources for Development of Science and Technology
He pointed out the negotiations carried out to use some resources, affirming: the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs has aimed to use all of the resources to develop science and technology in the country, one of which is the resource provided by donors. In this regard, a donation document for science and technology has been signed with the relevant organization to allocate 20% of their resources to the growth and development of science and technology.
