The meeting of evaluation of project of “creating the optimization market of energy use in Iran” was held in the presence of members of energy technologies development headquarter and a German delegation.
According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Davoud Habibikia, deputy of oil and gas of the energy technologies development headquarter, stated during the meeting: reducing greenhouse gases and maintaining fossil fuels for the next generations are some of the benefits of this cooperation. However, a strong collaboration between government units and use of the capacity of domestic and foreign technological companies in this field are required to make more advancements in the field.
Habibikia continued: the strategic council of the project has been established in the energy technologies development headquarter, and it has been decided to approve all decisions made in the process of project advancement by members of this council.
After that, Zeynab Hamidzadeh, the executive manager of the project, affirmed: the energy market of Iran will be desirably optimized by accurate implementation of the agreement between the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs and ministry of environment of Germany and timely cooperation of beneficiaries.
Petra Opitz, Director of DIW ECON, expressed that the project has three different sections, asserting: the first section is supporting the legalization of the area so that market creation could reach the implementation stage. Parallel to this measure, two other activities have been initiated including development of energy optimization project in Asaluyeh region (based on Note 12) and development of the project in rural areas. Soon, needs assessment studies will be initiated in Kerman, Maragheh, and Darjan in Mazandaran. In addition, two regions have been selected in Asaluyeh for these studies.
According to this report, creating the optimization and environment market is one of the important topics expressed in the country since 2015 as one of the high-level issues. Therefore, the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs sent a code of conduct in this area to the High Council of Energy of the country, which was approved in 2018. However, meetings were simultaneously held with the environment ministry of Germany and a cooperation agreement was signed between the Vice-Presidency and the environment ministry of Germany on creating the optimization market for energy use. From the technological companies and institutes of Germany, the economy institute of Germany made the agreement. However, it was concomitantly decided to form pilot projects by other companies.
