Holding Workshops for Familiarization of Researchers with Pre-clinical Research

 

The second all-in-one workshop on pre-clinical imaging was held by the pre-clinic laboratory of Tehran University of Medical Sciences. 

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, on the last Tuesday of each month, the pre-clinic laboratory of Tehran University of Medical Sciences holds the pre-clinical imaging workshop. The aim of this workshop is familiarization of researchers with the importance of pre-clinical research and the significant role of various imaging modalities in research. In this regard, the second all-in-one workshop on pre-clinical imaging was held especial for the physiology department of Tehran University of Medical Sciences. A number of the attendees of the event were faculty members and MSc and PhD students in the field of physiology of Tehran University of Medical Sciences.

In addition, these courses include PET imaging and its application in pre-clinical research, optic imaging and its application in pre-clinical research, SPECT imaging and its application in pre-clinical research, animal models and their application in pre-clinical research, CT imaging and its applications in pre-clinical research, MRI imaging and its application in pre-clinical research and Ultrasound imaging and its application in pre-clinical research, which is held all-in-one and over four hours. In addition, the method of using each of the imaging systems and their applications will be taught in this workshop.

With regard to the importance of pre-clinical research and lack of necessary equipment to perform these pre-clinical laboratory studies, the center has been established by the support of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology last year to provide the most updated devices to researchers of the country.
