Along with the second day of the third national festival and international congress on stem cells and regenerative medicine, a workshop will be held to learn about methods for determining human leukocyte antigens (HLA) with the title of “typing practical techniques of HLA” and “skin tissue engineering” (with an emphasis on various methods of scaffold production for skin tissue engineering).

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Elham Roshandel, the presenter of the workshop of “HLA typing practical techniques”, explained about the workshop: “HLA” is the abbreviation used for human leukocyte antigens.

She pointed out the target community of this workshop, which includes laboratory society and active individuals in clinical fields, especially transplant, and explained about the holding of the workshop: basic topics of HLA, HLA families, HLA genes and alleles, HLA tissue distribution and structure, HLA typing applications, extraction of DNA manually and with the help of a kit, HLA typing via the molecular method, regulation of the device and reading the samples, training of methods to work with the relevant software, and analysis of results.

The workshop on “HLA Typing Techniques” will be held November 24^th 2018 in the hematopoietic stem cell research center of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences located in Ayatollah Taleghani, next to Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, Shahid Arabi Street, Yaman Street, Velenjak, Tehran.

“Skin Tissue Engineering”

Mohammad Ali Nilforoushzadeh, the presenter of the “Skin Tissue Engineering” workshop (with an emphasis on various methods to produce scaffold for skin tissue engineering), affirmed: this workshop will be held to familiarize the audience with concepts of skin tissue engineering and how to work with highly applied devices in the field of skin tissue engineering.

According to this scholar, the audience of this workshop is MSc students in all fields related to biotechnology and biology, and PhD candidates in relevant fields, including applied cell science, biotechnology, nano, and general practitioners.

The workshop of “skin tissue engineering” (with an emphasis on various methods to produce scaffold for skin tissue engineering) will be held November 24^th 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in stem cells and skin research center of the university of medical sciences.
