Food and Nutrition Innovation Center opens; Sattari: The presence of scholars reduces the dependence of the food industry and creates value

The third phase of the Food and Nutrition Industry Growth and Innovation Center was inaugurated in the presence of the Vice President for Science and Technology.

This innovation center is affiliated with Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and Health Services, which has been established with the aim of supporting creative students' innovation, commercializing research and technology achievements, and creating suitable job opportunities, attracting entrepreneurs and university graduates.

 The Food and Nutrition Industry Innovation Center pursues the production of technological products and processes that can be offered to the market in accordance with the needs of the industry and the creation of the necessary space for the development of technology units and knowledge-based companies in this field. There are currently 27 technology units operating in areas such as standard food production, dairy powders, food poisoning kits, extraction and seasoning.

Sorena Sattari, Vice President of Science and Technology, during her visit to the Innovation Center, said that the opening of the second phase of the center will pave the way for the promotion of the food industry and reduce dependence.

The head of the Biotechnology Development Headquarters spoke about the need for the capability of the companies in upgrading and designing as a requirement to eliminate dependency and added: "Achieving the industry is achieved when the ability to build design machinery and optimization is created." This capability is created by creating an ecosystem for knowledge-based and creative businesses, and with the help of accelerators, research institutes and innovation centers, companies that are innovative in nature can be opened to industry.

Emphasizing that it is the private sector's investment in research that provides the basis for the commercialization of research and innovative ideas, Sattari said: Facilitate and provide a platform for the creation of new ideas and the presence of a private sector investor in the innovation ecosystem.

 Sattari mentioned supporting of the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology in creating a platform for linking research to the market with the role of the private sector and said: "We have a lot of work to do to turn ideas into products in the food industry."

In the center of growth and innovation of food and nutrition industry, various knowledge-based and technology companies with various capabilities are present.
