A joint meeting was held between Nosratollah Zargham, president of Iranian National Science Foundation, and Mauro Dell"Ambrogio.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, in this meeting, which was attended by the state secretary of Swiss government in education, research and innovation, head and deputy of international cooperation of Swiss science foundation and the ambassador of this company, Zargham talked about the activities of the foundation in order to support researchers, technologies and inventors of Iran.

He pointed out the modeling of successful foundations of the world by the mentioned foundation, stating: 76% of the activities of the foundation are similar to the activities of successful science foundations of the world. Three topics are considered in the activities of the foundation, including helping the strengthening and developing of science, technology and innovation infrastructures in the country, support of researchers, technologists and innovators and assisting transformational research.

President of Iranian National Science Foundation also explained about the assessment of projects received by the foundation similar to the model presented in GRC, expressing: support of researchers and technologists in the form of research projects, providing research grants and seats, initiation of grant, support of doctoral dissertations, support of science associations and support of international patent registration, support of kindergarten teachers to empower their expertise are among the activities of the foundation.

Pointing out the cooperation with centers such as ETSN, IIASA, DFG, RFBR, and DFG, Zargham asserted: the foundation is not just looking for scientific synergy in its international interactions and believes that cooperation of researchers and interactions between sophisticated individuals will help the relationships of nations and improve their communications.

President of the Iranian National Science Foundation regarded the presence of this delegation as the willingness of the Swiss party to development of scientific cooperation. In this regard, he conveyed: given the eagerness of both parties (Iran and Switzerland) toward the development of scientific relations, the foundation must be laid for this cooperation between the two countries.

State secretary of the Swiss government expressed his content with the activities of the foundation and mentioned: scientific cooperation of Switzerland in Europe is significantly extensive and can be easily implemented within the framework of European agreements. However, cooperation outside this continent has its own problems. However, he marked his willingness toward exchange of information with the Iranian foundation. In the end, Baras, head of the international foundation for science of Switzerland, explained about the support processes and frameworks of the foundation.
