Development of Joint Cooperation between Iran and Senegal in the Area of Nanotechnology

 

During the latest travel of the ministry of foreign affairs of Iran and some of the managers and technologists in the area of nanotechnology to Senegal, it was aimed to sign an agreement on joint cooperation for using the experience of Iran in development of nanotechnology laboratories and education of young workforce in the mentioned country by Iranian professors.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, some of the managers of nanotechnology field and Iranian companies travelled to Senegal during the latest travel of Mohammad Javad Zarif, minister of foreign affairs of Iran. In this travel, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, came to agreement with the government of Senegal on signing a cooperation contract in the area of nanotechnology.

During this travel, a meeting was held between the delegation of Iran and government of Senegal on various fields, including nanotechnology. In addition, Birang, head of the international interactions of the Vice-Presidency, described the technological achievements of Iran, especially in the area of knowledge-based economy and development of technological parks and knowledge-based companies.

Asadifar, manager of the workgroup of industry and market of the nanotechnology development headquarter, announced the preparedness of Iran for sharing the experiences on the development of nanotechnology in Senegal during a meeting with the governmental authorities of the mentioned country.

In this regard, one of the important opportunities is holding special educational courses in the area of nanotechnology, creation of specialized laboratories in the area of nanotechnology and implementation of projects that help the specialists of Senegal use nanotechnology in the area of agriculture and water refinery.

Minister of science of Senegal pointed out the presence of young workforce in this country, regarding the creation of occupational opportunities for the graduates youth of Senegal as one of the priorities of this country. In this regard, he added: to this end, the “city of knowledge” is being established in Senegal, which includes a set of various technologies.

According to this Senegalese authority, the government of Senegal has aimed to construct 100 laboratories in the country.

In this meeting, opportunities for joint cooperation in the area of development of infrastructures and education on nanotechnology were evaluated. In the end, it was decided to sign a joint cooperation agreement to use the experience of Iran in development of nanotechnology laboratories and education of human resource in the country by Iranian professors.
