Creating added value is possible by developing businesses based on local advantages

The vice president for science and technology affairs believes that creating the ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation proportional to the local advantages of the town can be provided by relying on creative and graduated human resource.

According to the Public Relations and information Center of the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, stated among the academics, technology activists and administrative authorities of Torbat-e Heydarieh: the efforts of active technologists of the town have been beyond my expectations and growth of technology has significantly soared in this region of the country.

The vice president for science and technology affairs added: the previous solutions for development, such as forming destructive industries and creating air-polluting factories, are not efficient methods for development of technology. The methods that have paid no attention to intrinsic advantages increase pollution and consumption of environment resources. Therefore, these techniques have led to no significant increase in added value.

Sattari regarded lack of attention to local advantages the most important problem in adequate development of industry.

The representative of the government delegation in this town expressed that the local capacities of Torbat-e Heydarieh will be flourished through the development of conversion industries and technology link, mentioning: currently, 96% of the saffron of the world is produced by Iran, and the financial turnover of eight and a half billion dollars is the result of saffron industry of the world. Meanwhile, only 400 billion dollars of this industry has been allocated to our country.

He continued: all efforts must be dedicated to this area in order to increase the share of financial turnover of valuable products, such as saffron, to the country by developing conversion industries and entering knowledge and technology. In general, knowledge and technology, including production, packaging and branding can significantly increase added value obtained from these products.

Sattari considered the development of startups and knowledge-based companies proportional to the ecosystem of the province as a solution for development of knowledge-based economy and creation of added value.

President of the national elites foundation expressed that the government structure is separated from the knowledge-based and startup structure. In this regard, he affirmed: over the past few years, a new generation of young and graduated entrepreneurs has been shaped in addition to modification of the culture of entrepreneurship due to the efforts for separating these two areas. Soon, startups and knowledge-based companies will take the place of largest companies and businesses.

He emphasized the creation of the infrastructures of growth and development of technology businesses, stating: growth centers, accelerators and innovation centers play an important role in creating the necessary infrastructure for development of young and creative companies of the town.

The vice president for science and technology affairs emphasized the serious will of provincial authorities for creating the ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation, adding: we need to pass the previous methods, such as traditional structure for production of saffron, and this city will be turned into the pole of knowledge and technology of production and packaging of strategic product of saffron. However, this important factor is only achieved by serious guiding of the province toward a creative and technological area.
