Brain-mapping counselors of Iran will gather
Head of the national brain-mapping laboratory announced the establishment of council of advisers in the first meeting of brain-mapping experts of Iran, which was held in the presence of more than 70 experts of the field.
According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Mohammad Reza Ay, head of the national brain-mapping laboratory, expressed on the first annual meeting of the top experts and counselor of the field: this lab was created as a respond to some of the country"s research and technology needs for creating brain imaging and mapping infrastructure. In addition, the provision of knowledge-based and updated services in the field of cognitive science and technology to the researchers of the country is an activity carried out at the center.

Equipping the Cognitive Science Laboratory of Isfahan
During the meeting, some of the professors provided some explanations. Majid Barekatin, a faculty member at Isfahan University of Medical Sciences and one of the professors attending the meeting, introduced the way the equipment of cognitive sciences laboratory of Isfahan is established and used jointly between the medical science university and University of Isfahan with the support of cognitive sciences technologies development headquarter.
Necessity of Cooperation of Researchers in Brain-mapping Biobank Project of Iran
Mansour Fatehi, manager of the brain-mapping biobank project of Iran, introduced the process of advancement of the project as the final presenter of the meeting and invited all researchers to participate in completion of data of this biobank.
Remote Access of Researchers to Their Bio Data and Samples
Fatehi also affirmed: this project has three stages; the first stage is brain imaging. In this stage, the number of samples has increased to 10000 and the total clinical data will be added to the biobank. This is an online system for researchers to have access to their samples. In the second and final stage, various signals along with structured interviews are included.
This meeting was finished by holding a communication panel and presenting recommendations by advisors with the management of Mohammad Reza Ay, Hossein Ghadiri, and Hamed Ekhtiari for formation of brain-mapping council of Iran and providing advice to projects accepted by the national brain-mapping laboratory.
According to this report, the national brain-mapping laboratory was established in 2016 by the support of the Vice-Presidency and with the slogan of “convergent development in science and technology of brain-mapping” and with the goal of development of science and technology. This center is equipped with equipment of the field so that updated services could be provided to researchers.
