The workgroup of agriculture of the biotechnology development headquarter uses biosensors to help control pests and diseases of agricultural products.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the workgroup of agriculture of the biotechnology development headquarter has aimed to determine programs, such as use of biosensors to control pests and diseases of agricultural products and bio fertilizers and in management of consolidated nutrition, in order to implement the missions determined in the area of improvement of agriculture in the country.

This workgroup has also prioritized the moving of agriculture toward sustainable agriculture, one of which is use of bio-agriculture. Therefore, various programs have been defined in the workgroup.

Some of these programs include “using plants for tissue culture”, “use of biotechnology in breeding and genetic improvement of livestock, poultry and aquatic animals “, “application of molecular methods for diagnosing diseases of plants, poultry and aquatic animals” and “use of recombinant vaccines in livestock, poultry and aquatic animals”.
