A joint cooperation agreement is signed between nanotechnology development headquarter and the Iranian Clothing Industry Association.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, along with the 11th nanotechnology exhibition, a joint cooperation agreement is signed between nanotechnology development headquarter and the Iranian Clothing Industry Association with the goals of penetration and development of nano in clothing industries as a fundamental capacity of textile industry of the country.

The most important areas of cooperation include laying the foundation for development and promotion of nanotechnology through holding specialized joint events, supporting the market creation and investment in this field, creating a cooperation space for synergy between technologists and industrial companies, and finally, cooperation in performing research projects.

Saeed Sarkar, secretary of nanotechnology development headquarter, stated about the agreement: by signing this agreement, the possibility of using nanotechnology in clothing industry will be facilitated. If the modern industries avoid using this type of technology, they will soon lose the market since Iranian products can be competitive by using the relevant technology. Generally, nanotechnology increases the quality of products and leads to increased customer attraction.

The president of the Iranian Clothing Industry Association explained about the use of nanotechnology in clothing industry: application of this technology leads to increased added value and will be regarded as a national movement to support Iranian knowledge. Therefore, the association will put great efforts into expressing its needs and using the nanotechnology achievements to improve the quality of clothes.

Currently, seven nanotechnologies have matured in the textile industry, including antibacterial technology, waterproof textiles, hydrophilic textiles, gauze and band, more water absorption in the towel, anti-waves pregnancy girdles, technology of electricity fabrics, and heating and cooling clothes.
