The innovation network of Mazandaran province will be formed based on the agreement between the vice-presidency for science and technology affairs and governor of Mazandaran province.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the innovation network of Mazandaran province will be formed based on the policy of the formation, development and shaping of the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in provinces.

This network will be established with the goals of “support of the formation and growth of startups and new businesses in the province”, “support of the development of innovation ecosystem in universities and other research institutes”, “facilitation of entrance of students and academic graduates to knowledge-based economy and creation of wealth from technological activities”, and “use of the capacity of economic agencies and industries present in the province, especially the private sector, to improve the innovation ecosystem”.

Other objectives for the formation of this network include the development of the capacity of innovation and technology in active economic agencies through the development of relations between the parks, growth centers and innovation institutes and economic agencies, empowering of efficient human resource for activities in the relevant units, laying the groundwork for emergence of talents of elites and students in universities, and integration of innovation and technology programs in provinces.

This agreement is signed for a duration of five years and can be extended with the agreement of both parties. In addition, the agreement has seven articles and two notes.

In this agreement, the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs is obligated to present solutions and cooperate in the formation of the necessary policies and strategies to implement the innovation network develop program in the country. In addition, it will cooperate in the construction of the innovation network of the province and improvement of its efficiency. Moreover, the Vice-Presidency will support the innovation centers in universities, research institutes, private economic agencies and other members of the innovation and technology network of the province.

With the strategic support of the Vice-Presidency and cooperation of the governor, this network will use the national and provincial capacities to solve the problems of the province in areas of waste management, conversion industries, using the vast resources of the Caspian Sea with the approach of support of startups, knowledge-based companies and in the significant presence of the private sector.

This meeting was attended by Mahdi Eliasi, deputy of policy-making and strategic assessment development headquarter, Peyman Salehi, deputy of innovation and commercialization, Esmail Ghaderifar, head of the strategic technologies development headquarter, Hesam Zand Hesami, general manager of the technology commercialization office, Mohammad Eslami, governor of Mazandaran, and Ali Motamedzadegan, head of the science and technology park of Mazandaran province.
