The presence of female specialists in the development of energy and environment technologies will be accelerated
Pointing out the establishment of “Ama Innovation Center”, the advisor on women affairs at the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology Affairs stated: this center is specifically active in the field of water, energy, and environment to lay a proper foundation for the establishment of startups and knowledge-based companies in these three fields.
According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, a friendly meeting was held in the presence of Zeinab Hamidzadeh, the advisor on women affairs at the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology Affairs, and pre-acceleration teams of Ama innovation and technology center with a focus on women.
In the beginning of the meeting, Hamidzadeh pointed out the importance of presence of women in development of the ecosystem of innovation and technology and necessity of using the capacity of female experts in various science and technology fields and announced the implementation of an empowering program for creative and technological women at the Vice-Presidency, mentioning the necessity of increasing the level of activity of women in entrepreneurial spaces. This program focuses on the reinforcement of women in the innovation ecosystem of the country in three fields of modeling, infrastructural strengthening and development of the network.
Hamidzadeh also talked about the goal of establishment of “Ama innovation center” to be active specifically in the field of water, energy and environment and the necessity of laying the proper foundation for the establishment of knowledge-based companies and startups.
According to Hamidzadeh, lack of presence of women in companies and startups of this field is despite a large number of female graduates in these areas, and increasing the presence of women as one half of the human capital of the country for development is a topic that needs serious attention.
In addition, Hamidzadeh explained about the capacity of the science and technology exchange program (STEP), held by the Mustafa Fund, to exchange science and technology among female scientists of the Islamic world and reinforce the presence of Iranian female experts in the international arena.
In the end, Hamidzadeh mentioned the success of knowledge-based companies managed by female leaders in various technology fields, affirming: reviewing the development trend of these companies shows that the entrance of women to the field of finding and managing knowledge-based and new companies has been a successful experience and must be strengthened.
