Pointing out the investment of the private sector in the formation of the first innovation center and research and technology fund and with regard to the high capacity of East Azerbaijan Province in the area of knowledge-based companies and startups, Sattari stated: the province can become the capital of knowledge-based economy of Iran.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the first innovation center and private research and technology fund is inaugurated in “Aras” in the presence of Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, and Mohsen Nariman, head of the board of directors and CEO of Aras Free Zone.

This innovation center and research and technology park is formed in a free commercial zone with complete investment of the private sector for the first time and hosts innovation and technology teams.

The innovation center and research and technology fund of Aras Free Zone with the complete investment of the private sector hosts startups and innovative businesses formed by academic and local youth in the area. With the help of the science and technology park of the province, idea-makers can be supported to reach the commercialization stage and producing their innovative product or service.

Sattari considered the capacities of the province an opportunity for growth of knowledge-based economy.

Mentioning that most of the requirements for becoming knowledge-based exist in the province, Sattari marked: Tabriz has many talented students and faculty members, as well as a proper space and industry for entrepreneurship, all of which have the necessary capacities for development of knowledge-based economy.

Head of the national elites foundation expressed: in today’s visits of the technology and knowledge-based sections of the province, we will attempt to help eliminating the problems of ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship to flourish knowledge-based products with the help of linking innovation and local industries of the province.

During this one-day trip, the vice president for science and technology affairs visited “Aras Tarla Amin Co.”, which is the largest greenhouse of the country managed by the hydroponics method.

Sattari also visited to knowledge-based companies based in industrial town of Tabriz and talked with the activists of these companies.

It is notable that the vice president for science and technology affairs inaugurated the innovation center of the university of medical sciences and the growth center of technology units in the field of agriculture. He also attended the closing seminar of Tabriz University of Islamic Arts.

The final part of this trip was meeting with the Friday Imam and the representative of the Supreme Leader in East Azerbaijan province before attending the council meeting on economy of resistance.
