The Database-centered Business Development and Innovation Center Is Opened; Sattari: “Artificial Intelligence” Is the Tool to Introduce Farsi Language.
The database-centered business development and innovation center of the National Library of Iran was opened to provide services to startup businesses. During the ceremony, Sattari emphasized the importance of developing artificial intelligence and data analysis in the country to be applied as tools to introduce Farsi language.
During the opening ceremony of the innovation center, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for sicnece and technology affairs stated: Iran ranks 16th in the world in terms of population, but in terms of content production, we are among the top 16 languages in cyberspace. This shows the soft power of the country, which must be worked on to expand and develop.
The president of the national elites foundation continued: in today's world, every day we see the production of a large amount of information, which increases over time. Therefore, we need to make this information available to researchers and young people using areas such as artificial intelligence and database-centered technology.
He also mentioned: powerful countries will be pioneers of artificial intelligence and data analysis in the future. This industry must be developed in the country and we must use this technology to introduce Farsi language.
The president of the headquarters for culture knowledge-based economy pointed out the projects supported by the Vice-Presidency, asserting: in the field of activity of the National Documents and Library Organization, large-scale projects can be defined and implemented in the next phases.
During the ceremony, Ashraf Boroojerdi, the head of the national library of Iran, expressed: the series of measures taken in the center are the result of the first phase of a memorandum of understanding signed with the Vice-Presidency. The joyful environment created by the youth and startup builders has been the intelligent response to the enemies’ sanctions against Iran.
According to the report, the center, set up with the participation of the private sector, provides a variety of facilities for innovative teams and startups active in the field of librarianship and archiving. Shared workspaces, event cafes and common meeting rooms are some of these facilities.
The national library of Iran is recognized as the country’s archive information reference.
Before the establishment of the database-centered innovation center, a startup event called VITA was held with the support of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs. In total, five out of 35 teams moved on to the final stage and were able to be based in the database-centered innovation center.
Prior to the opening of the center, the vice president for science and technology affairs met with the startup activists based in the center and visited their projects.
