Dr. Gharib Regional Industrial Development Innovation and Acceleration House is opened
The regional industrial development innovation and acceleration house entitled Dr. Gharib Technology Tower was opened in the presence of Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, and Mohammad Mahdi Tehranchi, the head of the Islamic Azad University, to witness flourishing of activities in the innovation and technology ecosystem by presenting present various services to the accelerators of different areas.
The eight-storey building of the center is a suitable place for the establishment of accelerators. To date, five accelerators have initiated their activities in the center.
The center was opened with the support of the Vice-Presidency and the Islamic Azad University.
Accelerators offer services to startups such as a shared work environment, business development consulting services, business offices and financial advice. Providing these services expands startups.
Diversifying the Activities in the Innovation and Technology Ecosystem
Esmaeil Ghaderifar, the head of the strategic technologies development center, expressed during the opening ceremony of Dr. Gharib Technology Tower: today, with the creation of this technology tower, an actor was added to the country"s ecology of technology and innovation. The center monitors the development and diversification of the ecosystem"s activities.
He continued: establishment of regional acceleration houses is followed up as a part of the innovation and technology ecosystem of the country. Accordingly, the first comprehensive acceleration house was established in the Islamic Azad University last October.
He also marked: today, this technology tower is established in an abandoned building to create a space for innovation injection and production. This place was created in an area of 8,000 m2 by establishing five4 specialized accelerators and allocating two floors to the shared work space.
Ghaderifar announced the comprehensive program of establishing several innovation houses, expressing: the innovation houses of West of Tehran will be opened in June in Poonak. In addition, another acceleration house will be opened in July 2020 focusing on art and architecture and the use of soft and creative industries.
According to Ghaderifar, contracts have been concluded to establish these acceleration houses in Arak, Sari, Tabriz, and several other cities.
He added: we believe that the leap in production can only be achieved through innovation and engaging in innovative businesses.
